Sr. Manager – Technology
Responsibilities: - Provide critical input into the engineering discipline’s vision and strategy, while initiating, promoting, and implementing engineering best practices.
- Provide technical and career leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
- Provide technical and leadership to drive designs and implementations in order to meet quality, performance, scale, and manageability requirements.
- Work with development team leads to plan and execute projects, ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver projects effectively.
- Demonstrate capability of "rolling-up sleeves and getting hands dirty."
- Ability to read and modify code.
- Demonstrate a breadth and depth of understanding system integration and cost/time impact.
- Being able to excel in idea generation, evaluation, and prioritization.
- Effectively navigating a functionalized organization, which includes Research & Development, Product Management, Implementations, Client Care, and Finance.
Qualifications: - A strong technical and management background, including 10+ years of software development experience and 5+ years of managing a product development team from product inception to ship.
- A proven track record of leading large (35-50 people), geographically diverse development teams.
- Demonstrated experience and success in building high-performing software development teams.
- Deep experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, C#, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle development, server applications and web and/or network protocols.
- Several years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- A strong and diverse software development process background, including but not limited to, Agile and CMMI methodologies.
- Experience in imbedding quality throughout the development lifecycle, using such techniques as Test Driven Development.
- Demonstrated success in establishing, communicating, and measuring adherence to development best practices.
- Willingness and ability to actively drive the resolution of software and technical issues as part of maintaining and upgrading the skills necessary to manage and advocate projects.
- Proactive work style that is essential to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for cutting-edge technologies and creative problem-solving of complex and large-scale software problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and interaction with peers, including Product Management and Operations.
- Ability to influence decision-making and to provide your counsel to, and leadership of, multiple project teams.
- Excellent service skills (timeliness of delivery and quality).
- Experience in developing and maintaining key metrics (i.e. quality, productivity, financial, etc.) to measure and monitor performance.
- MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
- MUST have very strong experience of atleast 5 years in ecommerce development.
- MUST have atleast 4-5 years solid experience in the complete suite of Microsoft web development technologies.
- Total experience of 7-10 years in software development.
- Very strong Team management experience.
- Excellent communications skills and pleasant personality.
